News July 2010

Hi Folks,
It’s been a long time since I’ve done a newsletter, I’ve been busy with various projects most recent being a series of embroideries entitled ‘Bird Garden’ for an exhibition at the Old Chapel Gallery in Pembridge, Herefordshire. It starts on Saturday 3rd July. I haven’t made work for exhibition for about 3 years so it was lovely to make a collection like this, though I had to squash in making time amongst everything else…very satisfying though. Please click on the highlighted text for more information.

Other news

If you are going to Oxford Summer School at the end of July I will be teaching there this year. It’s my first time so I’m very excited. My course is full but please pop in and say hello if you are doing another course.

Then soon after I will be at Missenden Abbey Summer School 1-6 August The info on their website is still wrong but this link takes you directly to the information sheet. It’s a full week of velvet related stuff, I can’t wait and if you’d like to come along there may still be places available.

Just before the festival, I’m doing an Icon’s workshop at Forge Mill in Redditch on Sat 14 August. Not sure what the availability is on this one.

Then it’s The Festival of Quilts, lord doesn’t seem long since the last one. Come and say hello I’m on Demo E as usual.

Other than that most of the courses here in the studio are nearly all booked up which is wonderful thanks everyone who booked in.

If you use Facebook I have a page now called Angie Hughes @ Ledbury Artplace where I post stuff that’s been happening in the studio, click on the like button if you’d like to keep abreast of things.

I’m still blogging too at angiestextilenotes.blogspot.com

Well have a happy summer I’m off to Andalusia for a few days next week for a bit of Moorish Spain, next newsletter will have the Autumn/Winter programme for you to peruse.
